Privacy and app store disclosure
RakShield™ is private by architecture.
Effective date: May 31, 2026. This page explains what RakShield™ processes, why permissions are used, what stays on device, and the safety limitations users must understand.
Important safety disclaimer
RakShield™ is a personal safety companion that uses phone sensor data and local physics-based algorithms to help surface unusual environmental changes. It is not a guarantee of safety, protection, detection, emergency response, or any specific service. It is not a replacement for emergency services, medical care, professional security, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, common sense, or personal judgement.
RakShield™ can miss relevant threats and can create false alarms even when the app is working as designed. Results depend on phone model, available sensors, sensor sensitivity, placement, permissions, room conditions, battery settings, operating-system restrictions, environmental variables, and the amount and quality of local feedback data. Any sensor issue or unsupported sensor can reduce accuracy or cause malfunction.
Use RakShield™ only as an assistive tool to support your own awareness and judgement. You remain responsible for safety decisions, emergency decisions, and how you respond to alerts.
Data collection summary
RakShield™ does not require an account for core monitoring. The app does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, remote monitoring, cloud sensor storage, or third-party sale of personal information.
- Raw sensor streams are processed locally for live scoring and are not uploaded.
- Raw audio recordings are not stored or uploaded.
- No photographs or videos are captured for core monitoring.
- Derived local data such as scores, calibration quality, alert labels, history, and learning summaries may be saved on the device.
- Data may leave the device only if the user intentionally exports or shares it.
Permissions and why they are used
- Microphone: Used to estimate sound level, short-lived audio features, and on-device sound-event classification. Raw audio is not uploaded or saved as recordings.
- Motion and rotation sensors: Used to detect changes in movement, acceleration, rotation, placement, and possible device handling.
- Light sensor: Used where available to detect sudden room light changes.
- Magnetic sensor: Used where available to detect unusual magnetic-field changes near the device.
- Pressure and proximity sensors: Used where available as background confidence signals for placement, pickup-grace, and certain room-change patterns. They are not guaranteed on every phone and may not appear as separate tiles in the main UI.
- Battery and charging state: Used locally for readiness guidance and power behavior during monitoring. They are not treated as stand-alone threat triggers.
- Notifications and foreground service: Used so monitoring status and alerts can remain visible during an armed session.
- Vibration and audio output: Used for local alert feedback and siren testing.
Local learning and feedback
RakShield™ starts with built-in sensitivity and false-positive guardrails. User feedback then helps tune future thresholds for this user, room, and device. Feedback categories may include correct alert, false alarm, alerted too late, missed alert, not sure, and quiet-session learning.
Learning records are compact summaries, not raw sensor recordings. They may include time, score components, likely source, calibration quality, room fingerprint, device profile, and selected feedback outcome.
Retention and deletion
Local history and learning data remain on the device until the user clears app data, uninstalls the app, or uses any available in-app controls to manage or export learning data. Because core monitoring is local-only, Tejai Tech generally cannot recover local learning data after uninstall.
Sharing and third parties
RakShield™ does not sell personal information. It does not share raw sensor data with advertisers or analytics providers. The embedded YouTube video on the website is provided by YouTube/Google and is subject to YouTube and Google policies when played in a browser.
Children, sensitive data, and emergency services
- RakShield™ is not directed to children.
- RakShield™ is not a medical device, security service, emergency response service, smoke alarm, or carbon monoxide alarm.
- RakShield™ does not automatically call emergency services.
- If the app opens a dialer or composer, the user remains responsible for confirming any call or message required by the operating system.
